Being deaf or hard of hearing shouldn’t be a barrier from being able to participate in speech and debate. To bridge the communication gap between the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) community and the hearing community, we’ll show you how you can set up inclusive speech and debate events.
Sign and Debate's mission is to empower the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) community by providing a platform to share their perspectives with a broader audience. We encourage both the DHH and hearing communities to participate by delivering speeches in American Sign Language (ASL), fostering meaningful communication and promoting greater inclusion.
Through this shared experience, we aim to inspire members of the DHH community to contribute their voices in mainstream forums while encouraging the hearing community to learn ASL and help bridge the communication gap.
We want to expand the Sign and Debate Family! If you are interested in hosting a Sign and Debate Event, please reach out to us, and we will provide you with the resources to do so. Sign and Debate events can be done in both an online and in-person format, and our team will support you through finding guest presenters, creating sign-ups, and featuring you on the official Sign and Debate website.
